HEALTH CHATTER is a weekly podcast that brings Dr. Stan Shanedling, Clarence Jones, and special guests together addressing many of today's health issues. It's a podcast for everyone - all ages, backgrounds, occupations, and beliefs. Through open and straight forward conversation, HEALTH CHATTER intends to shed light on the health concerns and questions we all face.
Stan and Clarence have had different health career trajectories but compliment each other through a trusted dialogue of teaching, learning and disagreeing at times that in the end creates all smiles!

Robert "Clarence "Jones, M. Ed., CHW, CPH, is the Executive Director and Community Health Strategist for the Hue-MAN Partnership and a co-host of the Health Chatter podcast. He was the former Director of Community Engagement at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in south Minneapolis. He is an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine for the Mayo Clinic and has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Catherine University in the School of Public Health. He served as a member of the CTSI Executive Leadership team at the University of Minnesota and as a member of the Public Health Disparities Research Board (PHDR) and CEARCH at the University of Minnesota. He is a former board member of the Minnesota Urban Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the Mayor's Representative and co-chair for the Public Health Advisory Committee (PHAC) for the City of Minneapolis, and a National Community Representative for the National Children's Study (NCS). He has received many awards for his community activities and was a recipient of the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health "Agency of the Year."
Clarence is a founding member of Hue-MAN Partnership, a community collaboration of organizations that promotes "Healthy Men, Healthy Families, and Healthy Communities. Clarence also hosts the "Community Health Dialogue" radio show on KMOJ RADIO, 89.9 FM.

Dr. Stanton Shanedling recently retired after 45 years of practice in the public health arena. He is presently the co-host of the HEALTH CHATTER Podcast. Dr. Shanedling was the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Health Unit at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) from 2005 - 2022. In that role, he advanced the MDH agenda to improve cardiovascular health and reduce the burden of heart disease and stroke across Minnesota. Dr. Shanedling worked for UnitedHealth Group as a Senior Director, Strategic Operations in their European division training healthcare professionals in the United Kingdom in Chronic Disease Management. He holds an Assistant Professorship with the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, and has taught prevention/health promotion courses. Dr. Shanedling holds a Ph.D. degree in adult education/health education, an MPH in Maternal and Child Health, and a BA in psychology all from the University of Minnesota. His professional interests include cardiovascular disease prevention, chronic disease management, and health disparities. He has received many awards at the State and National levels for his work linking the avenues of Public Health with Medicine. He volunteers at a local hospital in their orthopedic unit helping patients post knee replacement surgery. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, hiking with his dog, traveling, and reading.
